Little known outside Italy, La Thuile is uncrowded and offers wide, well groomed pistes. It lies under the watchful eye of Mont Blanc at the head of Italy’s Aosta Valley and links with La Rosière, France as part of the Piccolo San Bernardo ski area. La Thuile also offers ski passes taking in Courmayeur, Pila and Cervinia, which are all a short distance away. The start of the unforgettable 12km-long Valley Blanche descent from Punta Helbroner to Chamonix is within a short bus ride. The heli-skiing is very reasonably priced allowing for further off-piste possibilities.

Apres Ski For après ski, La Thuile offers a good range of eating places from cheap and cheerful pizza places to sophisticated dining in restaurants like La Fordze. There is plenty of local cuisine including a steak house, Mexican, and excellent chocolatier. There is a specialist local wine shop and all the usual exclusive ski and equipment shops. Numerous local bars give La Thuile its great ambiance.
Activities Besides skiing, La Thuile has a swimming pool, sauna and steam room, a fitness centre and a small cross-country ski circuit. There are ample opportunities for snow-shoeing and walks along local trails. The natural thermal baths at Pre-St-Didier provide an ideal way to unwind after a demanding day of skiing.
Getting there La Thuile lies on the north west corner of the Aosta Valley, bordering both France & Switzerland. It is a 9.5 hour drive from Calais or can be accessed either from Geneva, Turin or Milan airports. Train and bus connections link Aosta Valley to Turin and Milan. Train services run to Pre-St-Didier via Aosta from Turin and Milan. Buses connect from Turin airport. Airport transfers by car from Geneva (2 hours), Turin (80 minutes), Milan (2.5 hours) can be arranged through Eddie at Chalet Alpina or Laura Vecchi (+39 3356 757 386).
Lift passes The La Thuile pass office is alongside the main gondola station. You can purchase the dual resort pass of La Thuile and La Rosière or opt for the extended Valley D’Aosta which includes days at Pila and Courmayeur. They accept all major credit cards and can provide ski insurance. Lift passes can be pre booked by clients at Chalet Alpina.
Ski and boot rental Ski4Real has an agreed privileged contract with Only Ski Rental, La Thuile, for both Telemark and Alpine equipment. Luca and his team provide excellent equipment and service. Skis can be pre booked and are reserved for your arrival in resort.
